1 – SEMRush: the most complete all-in-1 SEO tool on the market
Tool overview:
SEMRush is one of the best-known tools in the world of Search Engine Marketing (SEM). You can use it for your SEO, SEA or social networking strategy. Many web agencies and companies use its many features every day.
At first glance, it may be difficult to grasp all the tool’s possibilities. But it’s a real Swiss Army Knife that meets most SEO needs.
⚙️ Main features:
- Keyword research (TOP feature) ;
- Competitor analysis ;
- Backlink analysis;
- Keyword position tracking;
- Technical audit.
🎁 Hidden feature: Backlink toxicity tool: Identify toxic links pointing to your site.
👊 I use it to: Find my keywords and all the information associated with them: Search volume, Competition level and Search intent.
✅ Advantages:
- Comprehensive SEO data: SEMRush offers an exhaustive overview of SEO: keyword analysis, position tracking, SEO audit, backlink analysis. This provides a deep and comprehensive understanding of your SEO performance and that of your competitors.
- Intuitive user interface: SEMRush’s interface is designed to be easy to navigate, making access to complex data simple and intuitive for users of all levels.
- Wide Range of Features: Covers almost every aspect of SEO and digital marketing, offering tools for social media, content, PPC, and more, making it an all-in-one SEO solution for marketers.
❌ Disadvantages:
- Cost: Premium plans can be expensive, especially for small businesses or freelancers with limited budgets.
- Learning curve: with so many features available, new users may find SEMRush a little intimidating at first and may require time to fully master the tool.
💰 Price:
From $219.25/month
😎Ease of use: High
Even though the tool is packed with features, you can quickly get to grips with them. Simply type a keyword or URL into the search bar and you’ll see the first information appear! Then go to my detailed SEMRush test to discover all the features.
😉 My opinion:
I’ve been using SEMRush for years, and have used it in almost every company I’ve worked for.
I love how easy it is to use, because all you have to do is type in a keyword or domain name to retrieve the initial information. After that, you have to dig deeper into a word to gather as much strategic information as possible on the visibility of a sector or on business opportunities.
The only drawback is that this tool is not for everyone…
2 – Ahrefs: A technically powerful all-in-1 SEO tool
Introducing the tool:
Ahrefs has established itself as an essential pillar of the SEO landscape. It is prized for its precision and depth of analysis, especially in keyword research and backlink analysis.
Renowned for having one of the most extensivebacklink databases on the market, Ahrefs is an invaluable asset for deciphering the link profile of any site, including those of your competitors.
Although it may seem intimidating at first contact due to its wealth of features, Ahrefs proves to be a powerful ally once mastered, capable of providing crucial data to refine and improve your SEO strategy.
⚙️ Main features:
- Keyword research ;
- Backlink analysis ;
- Competitor analysis ;

- Powerful Backlink Analysis Tools : Offers one of the best backlink analyses on the market. It lets you see where your links are coming from and how they can improve their backlink profile.
- User-friendly interface: Ahrefs has a clear interface and a well-designed user experience.
❌ Disadvantages:
- Relatively High Rates: Despite its impressive range of features, Ahrefs plans can be expensive, especially if you’re just starting out or have limited resources.
- Complexity for Beginners: Some of Ahrefs’ advanced features can present a learning curve for less experienced users.
💰Price:
From €89/month
😎Ease of use:
Medium to high
I’d say that using Ahrefs is a little less intuitive at first compared to SEMRush. However, if you take a little time to explore the tool, you’ll soon manage to find your way around the various features.
😉 My opinion:
I must confess that I don’t use Ahrefs on a regular basis. At one time, I used it a lot for backlink analysis, as it’s far more reputable than SEMRush. The tool enjoys a very good reputation among SEO professionals for the reliability of its data. Unfortunately, you can’t buy every tool!

- Features Specific to Advanced Needs: Although powerful, SEObserver can offer features that are beyond the needs of novice users or those with more basic SEO needs.
💰 Rates:
From €99/month
😎 Ease of use:
Average
The SEObserver tool is clearly intended for SEO experts to conduct more advanced analyses than the basic ones. It is therefore not particularly recommended for beginners. On the other hand, it can provide you with strategic information once you’ve mastered SEO.
😉 My opinion:
As soon as you start to learn a little about SEO, you realize just how powerful the SEObserver tool really is. Its flagship feature, the SERP Machine, allows you to compare search results on a given query over the desired time interval. A must-have if you want to see how the SERP evolves on your key queries.

The best technical SEO tools
Now you have SEO-optimized content. Unfortunately, it’s not enough. There are still 2 pillars and many other aspects to optimize in order to knock out the competition 👊. The technical SEOaspect of your site is one of them.
Why is it so important? The more your site meets Google’s technical criteria – meaning it’s fast and easy to crawl – the more search engine spiders AND web users will appreciate it.
Here are a few technical aspects of your site that you should consider improving to increase your ranking on key queries:
- Your site’s loading speed (on the home page and across all pages) ;
- Core Web Vitals (CWV): Simply put, the loading time of important elements on your pages;
- Ease of crawling: The organization of your site so that robots and visitors can easily access the most important resources on your site;
- The presence of canonical tags…
Well, this is starting to get a bit complex. But I’m going to try and keep it clear as I present the best tools for technical SEO. By the way, if you want to improve the technical side of your site, but you don’t understand anything about it, you should call in an SEO pro to carry out an audit of your site 😉.

Okay, I know we’re mixing cabbages and carrots here (oh no, I can’t believe I’m using that expression…), but I still think it’s interesting to have an overview before getting started.

I’ve always had very good results with this tool, so I recommend it!
The best SEO linking tools
Linking is the 3rd fundamental pillar of SEO. It aims to reinforce the authority and accessibility of your site. There are 2 main aspects to linking: netlinking and internal linking. Both have relatively different stakes.
Netlinking refers to all the links made by other sites to other sites. These send positive “popularity” signals to Google.
Internal meshing,on the other hand, links your site’s pages together to make them easier to explore.
These two aspects require different tools, here are the best SEO linking tools in my opinion.
10 – Majestic SEO: The most reputable backlink analysis tool in SEO
Introducing the tool:
Majestic SEO is the benchmark tool forbacklink analysis. Quite simply,link-buying platforms use some of its indicators to determine a domain’s strength.
These include
- Trust Flow (TF): Determines the quality of incoming links to your site;
- Citation Flow (CF): Determines the popularity of incoming links to your site.
⚙️ Main features:
- Backlink analysis (flagship feature)
- Competitor analysis
- Backlink evolution tracking
- Netlinking mapping
🎁 Hidden feature : Alerts for lost or acquired backlinks: Receive instant notifications when important links are added or removed, so you can react quickly.

- Trust metrics: TF and CF metrics offer valuable insights into website authority. They are used by many SEO players.
- Competitor analysis : Helps you understand competitors’ netlinking tactics and identify opportunities to strengthen your own strategy.
❌ Disadvantages:
- Rather specific tool: If you’re new to SEO, I’m not sure this is the most important tool to take first. You can, however, do some free analysis, so use it 😉
💰 Price:
From €47/month – but one free analysis per day
😎Ease of use: Medium to High
If you understand the various indicators, the tool becomes easier to use and offers invaluable depth of analysis for netlinking.
😉 My opinion:
Majestic SEO is a must-have in the world of netlinking. Its rich data and quality metrics make it an essential tool for understanding and improving your website’s SEO performance. Personally, I don’t rely as much on any other site to analyze the netlinking power of sites.
11 – Linkuma: The new best-value link-buying platform
If you’ve started to delve into the world of netlinking, you’ll have realized that it’s not uncommon to resort to buying links to boost your strategy. There are many link-buying platforms out there (we’ll be talking about them in a dedicated comparison very soon!), but I wanted to talk to you about Linkuma.
This relatively new platform offers links for all budgets. The links are rather qualitative since they are placed on sites created directly by the platform.
⚙️ Main features:
- Simply buy links.
✅ Advantages:
- Platform on a human scale;
- Transparent metrics;
- Quality, themed sites.
❌ Disadvantages:
- Less choice of links than on the big platforms of course.
💰 Price:
Link purchase from just €7.
😎Ease of use: High if you already know about netlinking.
😉 My opinion:
Having tried many link-buying platforms, I have to say it’s refreshing to see new players appearing. Linkuma is more accessible, a far cry from the huge platforms where you can’t really tell whether the sites are reliable or not. The value for money is honest, ideal for getting started.
The best SEO tracking tools
All right, you’ve optimized the various pillars of your SEO. But now what?
How do you know if your actions are bearing fruit? How can you establish a concrete action plan to take your visibility strategy even further?
As with any marketing strategy, it’s essential to monitor your results to know whether your actions are working or not.
That’s where SEO tracking tools come in. There are several crucial indicators to track in SEO:
- Traffic volume ;
- Traffic quality;
- Conversions achieved by web users, commercial results (that’s why we do all this, isn’t it?);
- Keyword positioning;
- All backlinks;
- Technical indicators: site speed, exploration statistics…
Quite a lot to keep track of, don’t you think? Yet the more meticulous you are, the more valuable insights you’ll be able to glean and deploy an unbeatable action plan 👊.
12 – Google Analytics – The essential tracking tool for knowing what’s happening on your site
Introducing the tool:
If you have a website, I’m certainly not going to introduce you to Google Analytics. And if you do, pay close attention!
Google Analytics is the benchmark platform for tracking everything that happens on your site – as soon as the surfer arrives on it.
⚙️ Main features:
- Web traffic tracking;
- User behavior analysis;
- Conversion target tracking;
- E-commerce analysis;
- Marketing campaign tracking.
The real strength of GA is that it gives you this information according to different segmentations: acquisition channel, device type, country… You have ultra-precise data to monitor your results in real time.
From there, it’s up to you to improve your performance!
🎁 Hidden feature : Define internal traffic: Exclude your company’s IP addresses from being counted in Google Analytics results.
✅ Advantages:
- Free : Google Analytics is ultra-powerful and free!
- Integration with other tools : Google Analytics integrates easily with other Google products such as Google Ads, Google Search Console, Google Data Studio, etc.
- Comprehensive tracking of user behavior : It offers a full range of features for tracking user behavior on a website, enabling you to understand how visitors interact with your content.
- Report customization: You can create personalized reports to meet specific needs and obtain precise information on their website’s performance.
❌ Disadvantages:
- Data complexity: With so much data available, it can be difficult for novice users to know which metrics are most relevant and how to interpret them correctly.
- Dependence on Google : As this is a Google product, users should be aware of the dependence on this company for data access and service continuity.
- Privacy : Due to growing concerns about privacy and data protection, the use of Google Analytics may raise questions about the collection and use of user data. Less true with GA4 than with Universal Analytics – but still…
👊 I use it to: Track all my sites’ performance: traffic, conversions, e-commerce…
💰 Price: Free
😎Ease of use: Average
It has deteriorated since GA4 I find, what do you think?
😉 My Opinion:
Despite the sometimes numerous polemics surrounding data collection and manipulation, Google Analytics remains the major tool for tracking website performance. The multitude of analyses on offer gives you invaluable information to better understand your audience and determine the actions you need to take to improve your results. Personally, I still use it to this day, because it’s still the best solution on the market, and it’s free!
